Laning Phase

Synchronize wave state with bot or top lane depending on the objective so they crash at the same time so your team can do the objective safely.

Resources

Focus on your resources, not on your enemy. HP, gold and experience are what wins the lane.

Wave

Autoattack minions that is getting targeted by enemy creeps, not others, its ok to sit back and not hit them sometimes.

Lane control

Focus on getting 1 or 2 good trades in the whole laning phase, no need to trade so much, and keep your hp high.

Synchronize tempo with your team

Look at your teammate’s location and try to predict when they will make a play.

• Full clear finished Crash your wave when your team is ready to play.

When your team is not ready, we DONT need to push! Communicate what we want to the team so they can adapt to us too.

Wave management

Hold a caster minion to guarantee a slow push. Leave it alive until next wave so the next wave has 1 more minion to their side and your wave goes to your tower.

Mage laning phase

Level 1 matters a lot, whoever gets to wave first is gonna get prio → first base advantage → snowball game. Using your first cooldown on the wave can be useful so you push faster and preassure more.

Hitting the wave and harrassing the opponent at the same time is the best outcome if you dont take more damage than them.

You can trade some health in order to secure prio and level 2 advantage, try to not do that aganist assassins as a mage.

Secure push, but dont push too fast, you need to be able to use the preassure to harrass the oponent.

If you are close to level 2 you need to save your cooldowns so you can harrass your opponent.

Get some harrass under turret when the enemy is farming minions and THEN go and use your ward. Always remember to harrass first.

Once you have a lead (health, level, items…) you need to look for a trade, pay attention to the state of your lane and prepare your wave accordingly.

When you know that if your opponent hits back you’re gonna win anyways, start the trade with an ability.

Your first milestone as mage is forcing your opponent in a position where they are lower cs than you and force them to base. Even if they get the minions back they won’t be able to spend the gold until they base again and you will have an item advantage.
